My husband is looking to get a new bike, mostly just for the two of us to go out recreationally. I found this bike and it appears to be in good condition but I have never heard of the brand "Asahi." I researched online but couldn't find much regarding if they make quality bikes or not. I would appreciate it if anyone has any knowledge or information on the quality of this manufacturer. Thank you.

Run away, fast. No high end boutique brand is using a hanger for the RD like that. Go look for something you have heard of.

That is a big box level bike. They probably didn't pay much more than $65 for it brand new.

lol I think it is the name of a beer company too! That's what I kept coming up with when trying to research.
