I've just got a nice Peugeot road bike from a friend. He's been keeping it for quite some time, but he doesn't know the type of it. I attached the head badge for you guys to see. I tried to google it but couldn't find the exact same badge with enough information.

Headbadge really tells us nothing, post some pictures of the whole bike. Someone that knows the headbadges could tell you approximately when it was made, but nothing about the model specifically.

And make sure they are driveside pictures! Pictures taken from the left side are the devil's work :D

Here's what I can tell you: you have a blue Peugeot, with a Peugeot head badge. I hope that helps.

I think it is from the 1980s if that helps any?

Presenting such a small part of a complete bicycle, coupled with such a sparse description is of little or no use to most people when it comes to identifying what a bicycle might be. You need to send us more pictures, depicting frame details along with a good picture of the full drive side of the bicycle.

The badge you present is, of course, Peugeot and likely from the early 80s, as mentioned. If you do send better pictures, you will likely get better answers. As for a description, even knowing what city you live in will be of some help to some forum members.

Again, welcome to the Bike Forums and let's see a bit more of what you want us to help identify. All that said, it is possible that you have found a Peugeot Sprint, such as this one...

From what i can identify, it has Shimano Seven RD, Peugeot front and back brakes, SunTour shifter, Peugeot cranks, and Maillar from hub.

Not sure on the model but it's lower end. Fork looks bent back and the bike looks really dirty overall. Value = low.

+1 bottom end with badly bent fork.

Do yourself a favor and don't spend a cent on the bicycle. It will prove costly to repair, even if you have some mechanical skills.

Looks like an 1982/83 P8.
If the frame is damaged in any way, it most likely will not be worth buying/fixing....

It shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement fork for relatively little money.

The frame is also bent.

I think it is just the angle of the photo. If the OP comes back, and they read this, they can check for any bending in the top tube and down tube with a straight edge. If it's not bent, it would probably be worth finding a replacement fork.

Yes i have seen alot of comments on many bikes here that the fork is bent or the frame is bent. I dont know how one can make this determination without examining the bike first hand due to the many angles photographs can be taken. The frame and fork look fine to me

See the line I drew? The fork should follow that line (in line with the head tube) all the way down to where it curves outwards to meet the wheel. As the picture shows, the fork is clearly bent from a frontal impact. This is very very common on old road bikes. Even somewhat minor front end crashes will ruin a fork and possibly even the frame.

Its actually pretty easy to spot.

Randy has probably handled 10X the number of bikes I have had, if not more. Probably a lot more. If Randy says the frame is tweaked, its tweaked. Looks tweaked to me as well, but I am not so confident in my opinion on the frame.

First thought upon seeing OPs photo was the fork is bent. Until I see a better photo of the head tube and fork area, I am sticking with that. If someone came to me and asked about purchasing this bike, based on these photos I would tell them to pass on it.
