Hello all!

I am mostly a commuter only, and rarely get out and go for a long ride.

My current bike is my dearly loved yet I have been wondering lately if another bike would make life a little nicer getting to work.

I ride 5 miles one way to work, mostly flat all paved roads. I ride a Fuji folder with a chromoly frame.

I have upgraded a few things, and added rack and panniers. It works great for me, but I was wondering if 700c wheels are going to be much of a difference, and if I will hate an aluminum frame or not. I would not mind a little more speed, and a little smoother ride. Disc brakes also sound nice for the wetter days.

Im currently struggling with buying a new bike:

but I fear the aluminum fork will drive me mad.

Im wondering if I should just stick with what I have, and wondering if the new bike would be worth spending the money on.

thanks all!

-Mike

Hello Mike,

Welcome to Bike Forums.

I ride 4 aluminum bikes. The bike with the aluminum fork has the softest ride.
It is all in the tires. You will be fine with the 700 X 32's.
Just control the PSI of your tires.

Thanks 10 Wheels! Sounds like its worth a test ride at least. I will give it a ride tomorrow and see what happens!

Have them check the tires PSI

Run the front 10 - 20 lower from the Max listed on the tires

I went, but they did not have the correct size for me. I will keep looking, but I'm not in a rush since there is nothing really wrong with my bike. I want to make sure Im not buying a bike for the sake of buying a bike, only to find out its not a whole lot better than what I already have.
