Hi, everyone. New to the forums, have been lurking for a while and participate low level on a couple of other sites. I'm a recreational rider. I typically ride 2-3000 miles per year. I ride on the weekends, run on weekdays. I rode semi-enthusiatically in the 70's and 80's, then took a long time off with only occasional slow rides with wife and kid. Bought a LeMond Zurich in 2006 and got into it. I just turned 60, so I am not going to set any records (or even enter any competitions) but I really enjoy going out for 3-5 hours on weekend mornings. I do a couple of long organized rides each year as well.
I still have my bike from the 70's, steel Velosolex. I also have a recumbent which I ride occasionally, mostly when I'm with someone who is much slower than I (and not many people are!) or in short local fund raisers. I also have a tandem which I ride when I can find someone to ride with me. The latter two are craigslist specials, so I don't have a lot invested and don't mind if they sit most of the time (and neither does my wife).
I mostly like to see what other people think, and how they solve problems. I have picked up a lot of useful information here and on other forums. Hopefully I will be able to contribute something from time to time as well.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
