Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Getting the urge to fix up a not-so-modern bike or three... Have the opportunity to buy all of these today... Looking for a little more info on what kinds of Schwinns might be in this package, not so much concerned with them being worth anything (unless of course, they are lol)

Thanks for any assistance.

The red one is a Schwinn Breeze 3-speed. The other 4 are various Stingray-type bikes. Some people think the Stingrays are kind of valuable (sometimes ask as high as $900 on Craigslist) although I have no idea why. I would pass on the 4 and pay maybe $40-80 for the Breeze.

yeah for some reason i had thought the stingrays were valuable too... what i really wanted to do was build a cruiser bike with the schwinn stik shifter, literally no experience or knowledge about those weird little schwinn sticks though

Maybe it's just a question of style, but they never appealed to me once I was over about 12 years old. I suppose some collectors will pay big money for them, but I'm not one of 'em.

The green ray may be worth some money because it is complete, the others look like they have parts missing/replaced which is the big value killer for muscle bikes.

A lot of people on this forum, myself included, are not fans of these types of bike but there are lots of people who are. So it may be worth still picking up whichever of them is in the best condition.

You'd be more likely to find a fan of the muscle bikes at ratrodbikes.com (http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/) or the Classic and Antique Bicycle Exchange (http://thecabe.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?10-Schwinn-Stingrays-and-other-muscle-bikes) (CABE has a whole forum devoted to muscle bikes).

You can look on the " auction site " to see what Sting-Ray bikes bring, now. Be sure to compare each model, exactly. I am not familiar enough with them to give a value. In my area, the red bike in great condition, would sell for $150.

Stingray fans: Our local brewery makes sissybar ale for this ride!
