Hey there!

I'm a former lover of bicycles, having spent many childhood summers on my glorious banana seated flying machine careening down hills in small town Iowa at break neck speeds. After moving to Arizona, I later received a ten speed beauty for Christmas and spent every morning riding before dawn (summers in AZ were brutal) experiencing the freedom of the ride, the wind through my hair clearing my head of new found teenaged angst. Sadly, my bicycle was stolen, and it was many years before I was to ride again. I now find myself in Washington state, in the heart of wine country, about to graduate from school to be a wine maker. The last few years have been wonderful, yet stressful, and I yearn for simpler pleasures.

I want to learn to fly again.

I've recently purchased a new road bike, and am in the process of conditioning my body to be able to tolerate sitting on a narrow strip of pain... but I have been sticking with it, and have been riding on my new bike for a week now. My short term goal is to be able to do group rides with experienced riders here in Walla Walla. Ultimately, I'm more interested in endurance over speed, but know I will need to at least be able to keep up with the pack if I hope to enjoy group rides.

I look forward to chatting with folks on the board, reading over the threads and archives, and gleaning any advice or tips from more experienced cyclists.

Cheers!
