Hello,
I am planning to instal a cycling computer on my CX bike. In the past I used Vetta (whic I lost) and Avocet 35 (and I really liked its big numbers and fairly simple commands). Well Avocet 35 eventuall broke down, and even under warranty I had to pay something to get it working again. Yet it died after it came from repair and I abandoned those little gadgets.
However, I would like to add a more reliable one to my bike. I am looking for something that can be mounted on STEM. Do you know of any models with this feature. Also it should not be too difficult to use and above everything I'd like it to be reliable and strudy.
Any recommendation is wellcome.
Thanks.

More than anything else I recommend things based on customer service and Sigma is tops in this regard.
Check out their website to find a computer to meet your needs. I have a BC1200 that works great for me but you may want one with more or fewer features. You can call the service number below and someone there will help you out with advice. Any time I've had a question or problem (broken strap on a heart monitor) they've backed up their product 100%. What else can I say? llhank

My wife just bought me an Axiom AO8 from Performance. Haven't used it yet, but it has the features I wanted. In fact, since I now own a computer I had to buy a new bike to put underneath it. Funny how a $20 gift turns into $800 of debt.

I think you can order a stem mount for any Cateye computer for just a few bucks, and the Cateye computers themselves are often on sale for very cheap ($10-$15 range) for a basic model. I've used 'em for a couple of years and never had one break, unlike the Vettas and Avocets I've owned.

I'm not sure if it can be mounted on the stem, but I got a Cateye enduro 8 for my cyclocross bike. I love it, heavy duty wire, easy to use, big numbers. I'd like to put one on all of my bikes. About $30
