I found a Craigslist ad for this 1981 Miyata 912 with Arabesque Shimano 600 groupset. He is asking $475. What is it really worth? Here's the CL link: http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/bik/3030251639.html

Silly price, $200 too high. The 912 got a lot better through the decade, 1981 was on the basic side (for such a high end bike).

It's in really great condition and the Arabesque is cool, but the frame just doesn't make for a $500 bike.

I'd say $300, $350 max.

Nice bike, nice color. In my high priced area I'd try to get $275.

Really nice looking and the color is cool but as mentioned WAY too much. For that price you could get a Miyata 916 with 8 speed brifters, IMO.

I just picked up an '81 Miyata 912 for $240 that's in pretty slick shape. Paint's a bit rough, but rides very well.

It has a compelling back story, but it's still not worth than $250 max. Nice try by the seller....
