I meant to post this yesterday, but I was riding and noticed all of the small orange signs posted everywhere. After like the tenth one, I stopped and read it. The signs read:
ATTENTION TRAIL USERS
BEGINNING WEDNESDAY, MAY 23RD THE U.S. ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS WILL CONDUCT A SEDIMENT FLUSHING AT CHERRY CREEK RESERVOIR.
TRAIL WILL BE FLOODED
FOR YOUR SAFETY, DO NOT USE THIS TRAIL.
CLEANUP ACTIVITIES WILL COMMENCE WHEN CREEK LEVELS ALLOW.
My friend commutes on it, so I asked him how it was today. He said that under the Iliff bridge (the 270º corkscrew turn), there was ~10 inches of water. So if you need to ride on the trail, do not ride on the low parts. I'm sure that the Cherry Creek North route (to the reservoir) is fine because of its height relative to the creek.
