Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - My Wife Agreed.......

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

...to join me on the Central Coast Century (http://centralcoastcentury.dojiggy.com/) ALS fundraiser! I threw out the idea sort of tongue in cheek, but she said it sounded like fun! We can't do this year, but we're now planning for 2013. We'll go camp in the area for the weekend and do at least the metric century together! I can't wait! :D She's never been this willing to ride, let alone be this into it!!!
I think I'll also show her the Napa ride (http://webgw.alsa.org/site/TR?fr_id=8430&pg=entry) and let her choose which she would perfer.

The Napa one is probably too close for you since your bike is not yet here AND you're currently wounded (am I making that up? Aren't you off the bike for a bit?)
I'd suggest waiting for the July ride.
Or just go to Napa and bring your bikes, that's what my wife and I are doing tomorrow morning. I'm not allergic to riding in crazy traffic (e.g. silverado trail) but she's not keen so I'm researching some flat, non-heavy-traffic routes to enjoy while we're up there. :)

Sorry, I should have been clearer. There is NO WAY, even if I had the new bike (and yes, I'm injured) that either of us are up to the metric century yet. I could do it if it were flat, but I'm still working the chemo out and my climbing suck. OK, I'm not sure my climbing has anything to do with my chemo, but I paid for the chemo, I'm going to get the most mileage out of it that I can! We're thinking 2013, and with both rides so close together on the calendar, she get's to pick.
ALS is near and dear to my heart. I just lost one friend to it and have another who is losing his battle to it one day at a time. It is a nasty disease and I would like to do my part to help.
I'd also like to find a cancer ride in the SoCal/Central Cal area. Obviously, that one means a lot to me, too!

Ah, sorry - I misunderstood. I thought you were afflicted with the same disease the rest of us have... you know, Hey, I rode 3 miles today, am I ready for RAAM?
Check this site out - loads of rides on the calendar:

Here's another one but it's better suited to finding something on a specific date:

Great link. Thanks. They don't show any of the ALS rides, but a TON that I never knew of. Bookmarked and hopefully I'll get out to ride several of them next year.

There are more links at the bottom of one of those two, I forget which one.
There's a great ride down PCH that I'm dying to do - I think it's called Best buddies challenge - but the timing is bad for me. *sigh*
