I have SRAM rival shifters (2012) and am wondering if I can adjust the shift lever reach independently of the brake lever reach. I know this can be done on Red and Force, and it seems that my rival shifters have the same cam that is used to adjust the reach on Red and Force. However no matter how much i play with it, I've yet to create any separation between the shift and brake levers.
I took it to my LBS and they said it should be able to be done but they ended up with the same results: the shift lever is still all the way forward, touching the brake lever. So, is this perhaps just not a feature that's available on rival, or is there some secret to making this work?
