Manufacturer, Retailer, Survey and Consumer Feedback - I'm thinking of starting a bike shop/store/beer and coffee bar

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I always love visiting hometown bike shops and as my hometown doesn't have one, I've been thinking about starting one up. I would offer repair services and sell bikes, gear, clothes, etc. The special part of my bike shop would be the adjoining beer and coffee bar. The bar portion would be simple...Just beer and coffee and a small amount of food. My community has a good amount of riders, but no local place to gather and commune for group rides. My question is, does anyone besides me think this is a good idea? I know mom and pop shops aren't doing too well (especially in this economy) so would I have any chance of survival? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Been done, but if the market will support it and your state has nice ABC laws...
A couple kegerators with drains (a must or yeast grows), a few tvs, and all the sports channels so you can get cycling events and you're off to a good start.

One local shop has a coffee bar. I'm not sure if a beer bar and bike shop is such a good idea though.
