Hello,
I have a Trofeo Bianchi Campione del Mondo 1986 - 87 - Serial on the BB of 5878 on one side and W7.F on the other. Has the Colorado Springs label and a 68 MM Bottom bracket. Trying to figure out what it is worth. I have had it since it was new. Bought it in Sanata Barbara. Want to know as much as possible. It is all original except the pedals... Any help woud be great. Has the made in Italy stamps. But want to confirm...
Thanks, Scott

Determining Vintage Bicycle Value (http://www.mytenspeeds.com/My_TenSpeeds_1/FREE_SITE_VALUE/VALUE_1_Start.htm) is a tricky business. In order to be of much help, we need to see decent pictures and let us know where you live. Prices on vintage bicycles are different, depending on what market you are in. For example, that bicycle is worth a lot more in Japan than it is in North America. More in Toronto than in Thunder Bay.
Here are some pictures - I just pulled it out of storage - did have time to detail it before the photos, the last time I cleaned it up to ride it looked great when I was finished. Two problems, Missing a cap for the handle bars that holds the wrap and the brake handle rubber has dry rotted and is beginning to split.

By the way - I live in Michigan...

Hello Fopos, Welcome to the forums. This is a '88 Trofeo and it is in the unusual "Argentin" paint scheme to commerate his/Bianchi's victory in the '86 World Championships.
Great bike with a Formula 2 tubing set by Columbus, and Suntour Sprint derailluers and Ofmega crank and Italian BB. Do you by chance have the toeclips?

Other than being dusty and dingy it looks to be in great shape and judging by the wheels has seen little use.

With a good cleaning and some patience and a willingness to have it packed and shipped (at sellers expense) you may be able to get $300 to 400 for it.
I would love to have that saddle!
Thanks for the information - I guess I should proof what I write. I meant to say that I didn't have time to detail it, that is why is is so dirty in the photos...

Hey, Fopos. That bike looks familiar, as I bought, packed, and shipped a very similar one for another C&Ver...none other than BianchiGirl above. The black on Celeste paint makes it kinda resemble Bianchi's very rare and sought after 'X-4', so it's a bike that a Bianchi collector might well be searching for.
Cleaned up well (polish like Meguiar's 'Scratch-X' works wonders) and fully reconditioned you might even do better than BG's price estimate, depending on where you are. There was one of those in my size on Chicago's CL a couple of years ago for $275, and it disappeared in a day, before I could even figure out what it was.
BTW there's an X-4 on Chicago's CL right now, if you want to compare them. It's been there for a while, not selling, for a price in the $500s, but that's probably because the paint condition is not great. If you want that bike, you want a great example of it.

The reason I came to these forums is to see what my Bianchi is and what it's worth, I believe I have the same bike? And I have the toe clips. :D 252866

Indeed that looks like the same model. BG's was one of the neatest looking bikes I've seen...if one showed up in my size I'd be awfully tempted.
