Hey Sampson, welcome to the Forums.
Nice Bike BTW, as far as any organized rides, I'd check first with my local bike shop. Those are usually the guys racing or have the low-down on the racing scene!
Where in Southwest, MO? I live in Union. Welcome to the forums you will have many laughs, find great info, and have fun reading the different posts. It can occupy your time for hours. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always fun. :D

live in joplin. sort of a way off from union. rode in the ozarks 100 last weekend in branson. lots of hills. ouch. going to bentonville tomorrow for my first crit. cant wait. i heard springfield was hosting a race on july 28. have not had a chance to check that out yet. what kind of riding do you do?
I have a mountain bike, but I ride whereever I can go. Sometimes the Katy trail, (for distance the Katy trail is flat), sometimes the Chubb trail (this trail is infamous for trashing bikes, it is even a rough hike!). Most of the time I ride on the rural roads by my house. I have never had a road bike, so I can't begin to imagine how fast I could go on a road bike!??!!:D
