okay, so my wallet wasn't THAT fat, but it was getting annoyingly fat and heavy so I bought a new one to stuff things into.

The old one is on the right. The new one, that I bought from fossil, is okay, but I'd still consider it to be on the fat side.

So does anyone know if there is anything better? Aside from a money clip, that is, because I need it to hold a key and some coins.
The thing I REALLY hated about my old wallet, was how FAT it was with nothing in it due to the amount of layers it had.

I have a bi-fold from Brooks Brothers, and it's a great wallet. It only gets fat when I go too long without emptying it. (How's that for an out-of-context quote?) I stuff receipts in one compartment, and if I take those out it's quite thin. Maybe 1/2" thick at the most.

I've use a Slimmy front pocket wallet for 6 or 7 years now. Shows little to no wear. $35 seems like a lot for such a little thing, but $5 per year doesn't, and it's still going strong. I'm considering getting the Slimmy International, which is very slightly wider.

Woah bro, that thing is huge! I have one of those slim money clip one fold wallets. Carries my ID and has 4 slots for CCs and the such. I can't stand a fat wallet.

But if you have a ton of cards and carry lots of cash.. I guess you gotta do whatcha gotta do.

But the back pocket is a great place to stuff your receipts, to be found after stuff has gone through the laundry.

In canada, you should carry a few more cards than just amex, mastercard, visa and debit. Namely health card and driver's license.

So It's a minimum of 6 cards one must carry and that's already around 8mm thick.

I have had one for 18 months and it still looks new, its thin and the company that makes them gets old tubes from my bike shop so thats cool to.

do you really need to carry a suitcase in your back pocket. The way I see it I need a drivers licence, health/dental insurance cards, 2 credit cards, my bosses business card, my debt card, and alittle cash. thats only about a 1/2 inch worth. what else could you possibly find necessary to carry with you every day??? Maybe a man purse or fanny pack would be better.:D:D

My wallet has just enough room for my driver's license, debit card, and library card with a single pocket and cover with a window pocket on the exposed side. It is small enough I can forget which pocket I put it in.

I usually do not need to carry my health card as in this province, your name and info are entered into the system and every hospital and nearly every health care provider can access it by your name... I do keep the number in my phone and Blackberry just in case.

SIN card is also something one might want to carry but I have my number memorized and have not had a physical SIN card for several decades.

I guess when I hear about people carrying multiple credit cards in their wallet, I right away assume they're racking up debt irresponsibly. I know this is not usually the case ... it's just what comes first to my mind. I'm extremely debt averse.

The Canadian Government is phasing out the SIN card. Here's a quote from a news article linked below:

the OP has me thinking you'll soon fill the larger wallet with more stuff.

I bought two wallets from a store while waiting for a ferry. Same manufacturer - but for whatever reason the first one, a slim wallet, fell apart at the seams within 6 weeks or so. The second one has lasted nicely through just over a year now, but I bought it with the idea I'd only use it while on vaca - it's large and has slots for about 12 credit cards.

Even tho I am using it daily now, you know I have to find crap to jam in all of those slots...nature abhors a vacuum and so forth.

I do have a money clip waiting to be used, I just need to get a smaller wallet/card case for my basic daily cards; that's what I had before I bought these last two and that was a good system. I'm just too cheap to throw out this giant one before it wears out.

I carry my wallet in my coat or in my front pocket. Sitting on your wallet seems odd to me.

What's all this talk of health cards? My "health card" is just by debit card, and after I use it for health my bank account is considerably less healthy. Less cards in my wallet, less bulky money taking up space in the bank. Much more efficient.

To avoid buyin a purse, I've gone to the 1-fold (with money clip) front pocket wallet for cash, driver's license, medical info and insurance card, and 2 credit cards. My Coach (expensive but indestructible) hip pocket wallet holds the other stuff...more cash, bank machine card, family photos, credit card receipts, etc.

When its time to ride, the front pocket wallet is thin enough to be carried on my right leg, tucked under my riding shorts. Its got all I need on a long ride, including what would be needed for emergencies.

I clean out my wallet like every two weeks. Right now all I've got is an ID, lawyer's card, one CC, and insurance card. I saw this online like 10 years ago and it was just too funny not to pass up. One of the best movies of relatively modern times.

the problem is, it doubles as my costco card and it has the best rewards out of all the cards I have.

coins are about 5/8 of the bulk in my old wallet.

I currently use an 80's style velcro close tri-fold. I know it's cheesie, but it is nice and tight, slim and secure. My old wallet fell out of my pocket on an amusement park ride and all my stuff went flying all over the place. Luckily, with the help of the park employees, I was able to retrive all my stuff. With my new wallet, I could throw it out the window on the interstate and nothing will fall out. It's a little embarassing with the whole rrrrrrrrrrrrrip! sound when I open it, but at least I know nothing can fall out.

okay, I admit, the 'old wallet' was stuffed with tartar and Louisiana style hot sauce packets to replace the void left by the stuff in the new wallet.

I used to have this big ole fat wallet but found that everything I carried in it was basically crap, so I sorted it out and ended up with only two pieces of I.D and my debit card, my drivers license and my carry permit, and my debit card, thats it, Been wallet free for about ten years!

I've never had a credit card. Unless you count a debit card. I also don't carry cash. Maybe once in awhile but not regularly. My wallet's pretty skinny :)
