Found this on Craigslist today. 1985, Reynolds 531c tubes. There are a few touch ups, chips and scratches. All pretty minor except what can be seen on the right chain stay. An estimate of value would be very helpful. Thanks.

At least $100 for sure. How much are they asking? If they're asking a couple hundred or more you could probably get lucky finding a deal on a similar complete bike.

I already own it, hope it's worth more then a $100. It was a basket case. I have everything but the crank arms and brakes.

A nice one in a desirable size just sold on ebay for $140, plus shipping.

I find that except for a handful of rare/desirable frames, the way to get value out of a nice frame is to build it up and sell as a complete bike.

I agree with the selling as a complete bike. Even though the 760 was their upper end class of racer that year, not many build their own bikes. They want to ride it right now.

That said, I wouldnt mind building a 760. I have the entry level racer in the same class of Trek and it's nice enough to make me want something upper end someday. Someday.

To built up with the original campy bits, the missing cranks and brakes would have to be bought. Paying E-bay prices would be a hard on the bottom line.

I do have a complete early 90's Shimano 105 group that's in very good condition. The 105 would make a nice rider, but does this frame deserve something better.

Another option would be to wait for a parts donor to came along. What do you guys think.

Donor bike. While tricolor STI is nice, those are really hard to find. But tricolor DT shifters are relatively easy to find (found two in the last three weeks). STI bikes do well, but it takes a real score on an STI bike to make the numbers work.

In my experience, few buyers appreciate a bike having all of its original components. But they recognize models like 105 and Ultegra/600.

Its really a matter of what you find, and at what price.
