I am finally going 100% Mac, by ditching my laptop at work.
Does anyone know how I can continue to use my Polar S720i on a Mac?
Is VPC the only way? How do you get the files off the Polar ?
Thanks!

You have to have the Polar USB Interface - should be able to buy it any place that sells Polar HRMS.

You will need either VPC (a piece of crap that is sold by MSFT) but before splashing out the cash for that you should try Darwine. This is a "windows" environment that will run under OSX, Darwine is free (open sourec) download that you can get at Sourceforge.net.

Just do a search for Darwine at that location, I also think it is available as a download from the OSX support page at Apple.com

I have heard good things about it but haven't used it yet, though I have downloaded it.

Good luck.

So, you use the Polar software on VPC... there is no OSX software equivalent?

The Polar software has not been ported to OSX - no I do not use with VPC. I use it on an old windows box in the basement. I have been meaning to instal Wine and just haven't got to it - once I do I will use Polar Software on the Mac.

I have been developing some software for polar IR devices, no sonic link support yet.

You can download nightly builds from

I really welcome feature requests, bug reports and feedback in general.
