After 4 months of modifying I finally managed to get my fleet of two perfect (for me anyway).
Bike number one 252809
Started life as a cable disked, sad suspension fork 'entry level' MTB. Got her for $260 slightly used. The new price here in Korea is $375 so it was a decent deal. I sourced a rock shock tora front fork for $80 and deore hydrolic disks for $100, and Hybrid tires for $40. Massaged all the settings, cleaned out the hubs and now today it rode perfectly. Best fit and smooth ride I've ever had. Even felt rock solid descending at 56km/h.
Bike Number two 252806
The cheap commuter/grocery getter. The saddle is high in the picture because the basket was being setup and I forgot to lower it again. Replaced the 42t front chain ring with a 48t group and installed a cheap computer, extra strong rack, and basket/baby seat. She will get the same tires as bike one has next pay day as they roll so nicely and are a great deal for $40 a set. So for the grand price of parts I had from the old beater and $220 for the bike I have an awesome commuter/shopping basket/kid carrier.
Don't need N+1 I have all the bikes I need. :)
