Bicycle Mechanics - Noob MTB Part Questions - Stem/Disk Brake Part Names

Hello all, I'm a newbie when it comes to MTB and bikes in General. I've been riding my bike in the local trails for a few months and I love it.

I was cleaning my bike after my latest ride 2 days ago and I noticed a couple parts are broken. The parts appear to be minor, but if I don't fix them now, I'm sure the issue can lead to costlier more complicated repairs in the future.

My bike is a 2008 K2 MTB with front Dart2 Suspension and disk brakes.

The 1st issue I have is that a plastic ring/seal broke that goes on the lower part of the stem. The brand of this part is "Cane Creek", but that's all I know. I have included the following pics.

The 2nd issue I have has to do with the disk brakes. The brand of my brakes read. "Tekkro Auriga Comp" and they are oil-based-disk brakes. I have included the following picture:

In both instances I would like to know what the part names are if it is possible to find replacements and where I can find them.

I would like to do the work myself, just for the satisfaction. Hopefully someone can guide me towards the right direction. If more info is needed, let me know and I'll send you more info.

For the headset, it's the top cover, normall on low end headsets its cheaper to replace the whole unit than find spares. you can see a parts breakdoen here, look at the 100 classic threadless instructions http://www.canecreek.com/tech-headsets?view=manual You could always ask at a bike shop to see if they have this part in a spares bin.

For the brakes, it's just a dust cover, in your case, would cut it off, as replacing would require the hoses to be removed from the caliper / lever and when re-installed would most likely require a bleed.

With headsets, there are so many different designs and sizes around, that unless you have a high end one, like a Chris King, where parts can be obtained, it is normally easier & cheaper to replace the whole unit. I mentioned asking in a bike shop, as you may find they have the part yours has broke in their spares bins, if they keep salvagable parts from previous work they have done.

Unless you have the correct tools, headset replacement is a job normally better left to a bike shop.
