I’m in the “pondering” stage of trying to put together a benefit bicycle ride, and am seeking ideas/suggestions on groups. Specifically, I want the proceeds of the ride to benefit Iraq/Afghanistan vets. Ideally, I’d like the money to stay somewhat local (in the greater Kansas City area), but I’m not totally against the idea of a national level group. As a veteran myself (Operation Iraqi Freedom II), this is a cause fairly close to my own heart. There are rides for most everything around Kansas City, but I haven’t seen any specifically for Iraq/Afghanistan vets.
I know about the Wounded Warrior Project, and it’s definitely on the list for consideration, but I’m also open to other suggestions.
