A little over a year ago a good friend of mine passed away. I'm having a hard time of it as the recent anniversary of his death has stirred up many emotions in me. I'm still saddened at what could have been. So many of us loved him. So many of us saw ourselves in him. Tonight, some of my friends are going to have a short memorial for him. I really miss my friend Joe.

Make the sad go away:

I sent you 10 pounds of Pastrami on dry ice via Fedex and it should arrive today.

Make the sad come back:

I lied. :p

Couch, my friend, just remember the good times with him and it's normal to be a bit sad on anniversaries like this one. He would want you to celebrate his life and how it touched yours more than he'd want his death mourned, I suspect.

I know it's normal to feel this way. It's just been hard on me today; I'm sensitive. Joe was such a good dude and instrumental to my recovery.

Oh, I know that sad. I remember it every April on my dad's birthday. He would have been 82 this year. Doesn't cheer you up I guess, except that at least you know you're not alone in your feelings.

Puppies.

The answer is always more puppies.

I keep trying to to convince my wife that we should quit our jobs and become puppy therapists. We'll just get a rotating cast of adorable puppies (and maybe a few kittens) and just have people sit with them for an hour or so. No one can help leaving a room full of puppies happier than when they went in.

Whenever my ex was feeling a little down in the dumps there were always 8 words that made her feel better and it wasn't, "Honey, we should really move to the Bahamas".

It was...

You know... :)... I have a 12 inch Johnson.

Sorry, man, wish I could do something to cheer you up. I don't do those things they call emotions well, so I try to use humor to deflect. I drive my wife nuts as she has enough emotions for both of us.

Growing up on a farm in rural nowhere, you learn boys can only show one emotion and not be ripped to shreds and that's anger. And unfortunately, once an old farm boy, always an old farm boy.

But on the bright side, the nervous breakdowns I am prone to from not being able to coup are freaking awesome.

Take care my friend, you will get through it, and your friend will always be in your heart.
