What brand do you recommend and how much would it cost? Keep in mind I'm an absolute beginner and let's just say I'm not rich :). E-mail me at sL33py_nobody@yahoo.com

There are bots that search for email addresses on forums, so its best to say 'address AT server DOT com' or some such.
I can't really help with the bike question... DK cincinnati seems to be the most recommended for a first bike - Ill probably buy one soon.

since your a biginner, you might want to go to a bike shop and see what they have in stock, and ride te bikes around and see how they feel. but dont get a bike from wal-mart, or any other "marts".
Specialized Fuse Range. take your pick
Looks like I blew it big time,I bot my first bmx at wally world (an 18 speed 26 inch for $ 64.00 out the door). Whats wrong with wal-mart bikes for a beginer thats not going to ride in the mountains.?

A 26" bike with 18 speeds isn't a BMX bike.

There's nothing wrong with Wally World bikes if all you are doing is non-abusive straight line riding.
If you actually buy a bike from one of those places and intend to use it for say - actual mountain biking - or some actual bmx usage then you REALLY are taking your life into your own hands.
If Huffy (or Next) made cars they would make Yugo look like a Mercedes Benz.
Haro has some excellent entry level bikes, ask before you buy.
The DK Cincinnati is available at www.danscomp.com and is also a very good entry level ride.

Yugo? More like Adobe, "the car made out of clay".
