Does anyone here race a Bianchi Axis? I keep reading that it is not a good bike for cyclocross racing. What do you guys think.

I think there's a bunch of Norcal racers that would heartily disagree with you.

If the Bianchi Axis is what you have, then go for it! I would have gladly bought an Axis way back when, but they were rather unavailable at that time. Post a pic of your ride, if you get the chance!

I ride a BTC-coupled steel cross bike. If I can ride that, you can ride an axis.

i've raced my axis, works great. the triple isn't ideal for pure racing but it's nice on those long steep fire road and singletrack rides.

I race mine regularly and the only complaint I have with it is the weak, crappy motor.

Got the same issues with the darn human on the thing. Never seems to want to work like it should...

It's a really great bike both for racing and commuting. I am so happy with mine.:)

I adore my 2005 bianchi axis. The 2005 is said to have ironed out problems of previous models according to the distributors in California. I've never had a bike of this caliber before, so i can't honestly compare, but I've suited her with slicks and she is the most fast, agile, beautiful, elegant, smooth, and magical bike ever, ever, ever. I've changed the seat and handlebars to be girl-specific, fixed it up with some celeste "LOOK" pedals I scored on Ebay and keep her polished with the aptly named "BIKE LUST" by Pedro's. (actually, you might want to change your pedals too as I've heard that they are the only components that are a bit crap)
If you have the means, though, there is a Bianchi Cyclocross, I think just simply named 'cyclocross' that is a step above 'axis'. It also costs an extra grand though...eek.
