Was reading the cranky beer thread and it got me to thinking about designer beers and what they cost. Paid 28 bucks for two Stella drafts at a hotel in Vegas, before tip.

$120, drove into town to get a beer and a hot sandwich, got pulled over for doing +20 (he let me off light cause I was doing more like +30).

Didn't--A Pint over here is around £3. Any pub that charges me more gets to put it back in the pump.

$20 for a bottle of domestic and a rum and coke at some Vegas Casino.

I bought a $20 22oz fancy beer that was probably the most I've spent in a grocery.
A $7 16oz draught was the most expensive normal beer on tap.
I've spent $8 for a 9 oz Lambic on tap, however.

NEVER pay for a drink in Vegas unless it's one of those cheep 40oz Daquiris on Freemont or a cheep beer in a divey casino. I guess I did buy some Pina Coladas @ Treasure Island. But they were $10 and you got to keep the glass.

If you're at a nicer casino you're probably better off playing for a bit 'til a waitress comes around, so you get comped drinks.

Oh, we drank it. It was part of a beer and bourbon pairing we were doing. It was paired with Booker's and complimented it quite well. It needed to be paired with something that has a bit of heat to it. I think it would also go well with Wild Turkey Rare Breed, but that was not one of the pairings that night.

Went out for a beer and ended up with a wife!

Still paying for that beer and I don't even remember what brand it was.

Did that once. That beer cost me 40 bucks.

This reminds me that I forgot to drink my daily beer yesterday because it was fresh from the grocery store at room temperature. (In some remote places, that would be a plus.)
A Dundee Ales and Lagers variety 12-pack at a bit less than $1 per bottle.

That's a lot of dimes. Just play one line at a time and pace yourself ;)

I think I paid $9 or so for a draft at a hockey game this past winter. At least the girl pouring it was nice enough to let the foam settle, and then top the cup off.

Beers are $8.50 at StL Cardinal games. 16 oz though! Thank you, sir, may I have another?!

A similar story for me. In 1976 I was working on a survey crew, outside all day in 100+ degree temperatures. We stopped for something to drink after work and all this place had was beer. I don't remember what it cost -- maybe a $1, at most. I've never had another.

Never tried a cigarette. Tried a cup of coffee in 1977. Haven't had the urge to try another since.

Are you a teetotaler or do you just have wine or harder spirits?

I don't recall the most I have ever paid. It's likely only a few bucks. I may have zero, one, or two drinks in a year and have been this way for about 20 years--ever since I developed T2 diabetes.

Before about 1980, you could sit at a blackjack table and loose $20 in the time it took you to drink twenty bucks of the "free" beer they would bring you, if you played smart. Those days are gone, and now I only go there to visit family.

Think around $10.00 or so at Laguna Seca raceway. Next year we brought in a case in one of the sidecases- on ice. Freedom isn't free, but beer should be.

You are 85 cents over me. I've never purchased one.

I did see one in a fancy restaurant for $25. That's the highest price I've ever seen on one.

Dan, you must be my brother from another mother. I still haven't tried coffee.

My experience with coffee was in some ways similar to my experience with beer, in that they were both work related. My exposure to beer, as I mentioned, came after working outside all day in the heat. On the other hand, I was served coffee at the end of a long, cold day when I was working on a ranch in Montana. I had spent the day on horseback on a 3 day long trail drive, and was cold from rain showers, thundersnow (accompanied by multiple close lightning strikes), and wind. I would have liked a big cup of hot cocoa, but the only thing available was coffee. The only thing good about the coffee was that it was hot. Oh, and free.

Say hello to Dad for me.

The most I ever paid was around $48.00 for a vintage Gueze (Mmmm...)

The most overpriced beer was probably $40+ for a Heineken or some other not remarkable lager in the Intercontinental Hotel in Dubai. Come to think of it, I think I had several...
