Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It looks like he has short bullhorn bars turned towards him, and almost a 1:1 gear ratio!
trials 1899 style!
look at those bar spins- he does 'em like its no one's business.
The BMX guys and gals should see this.

Funny, that's exactly what I thought. Flatlanding is as old as the hills.

I'm skeptical of any video. Just because it says copyright 1899 doesn't mean it's so. Suppose I wore a "Bill Clinton" nametag... does that make me Bill Clinton?

This video comes from the American Memory of the Library of Congress. I'd think that they would check the authenticity of it.....

that is pretty amazing (i was skeptical at first too... but it's entierly plausable after searching around the web)
I love his little backwards 'swosh' he does with the bike to get the pedals horizontal again about 3/4 into the clip

I had to save this to disk first. A fun tandem is a little bit into the clip, I'd love a close up of it.

That was probably filmed nearby me at his lab in Orange, Nj like most of his other work.
The original Hollywood.
