Hello!
I bought my bike about 5 years ago while I was living in Southern California from a Play It Again Sports. It's a Centurion, and they told me it was vintage. About a year later, I had a electric conversion kit installed and they needed to put on different handle bars to accomodate the flip switch to electric assist, as well as putting on some attachments like baskets, and the hitch for my bicycle trailer.
Now, I live in Portland, Oregon, and last week I purchased a New York Kryptonite U-lock for my bike. I want to finish registering the lock, found the bicycle's serial number, but the form wants to know a year and model. I spent some time in the classic thread trying to decipher the year of manufacture from the serial #, but I'm still confused. Sorry.. I try to research things for myself, but couldn't quite pull this one off. Both the Play It Again Sports store and the bike shop which worked on my bike last week (and where I purchased the U-lock) think the bike is from the 1970's, but from what I read in the thread, it sounds like it could be from the 1980's. I would appreciate it if someone could help me decipher the serial number #N3H7521. The 7521st bike of 1973 or 1983? Oh, and it's a mixte if that helps. Thanks!! :)
