Hybrid Bicycles - How to buy a new saddle?

I'm a male and in the market for a new saddle. However, I have no idea how to go around buying one. I need a new one because the current one is too small(it puts pressure on the soft tissue between the legs). I mostly do road cycling with some off-road put in.

Please help me out.

Demo from a LBS. Try 3,4,5 different saddles until you learn more about what you want.

I recently bought the WTB Speed V saddle from Performance Bike. It's a good saddle (I use it mainly for commuting, also some recreational rides where I'm towing my daughter in a trailer), but even if I didn't like it, Performance has a pretty liberal return policy.

As mentioned above, go to your bike shop and try the saddles out. Any quality bike shop will have demo models in store.
My advice is try the Fizik saddles out. They have basically three shapes for bodies, then within those shapes, they have various models to choose from. They are expensive, but in my opinion, are worth it.
Oh, BTW, setting your saddle in the correct position is important. Do some googling and you'll quickly find how to set your saddle correctly.

Yes, they work for relieving perennial pressure (i.e., junk numbness.) You will bear more weight on your sit bones though so you may find them less comfortable.

Got a Specialized dealer in your area? They can measure your sit bones and will recommend a saddle based upon the measurement and the answers that you provide to the questions that they will ask- type of bike, how aggressive of a posture while riding, on/off road...

I have learned over the years that saddles are made for different types of riding positions. So, let's see a pic of you on the bike, and based on the position of your hips and torso we can suggest some saddles.

you can see how wide the part of your hipbones are apart where you sit on
with a few sheets of corrugated cardboard in a wooden chair..
sit on them then look at the dents in the cardboard.

so does getting the saddle and your pelvic tilt right.. . generally a level saddle is good..

I got a Vitesse from Fizik the nose is fairly narrow so leg motion is fine un obstructed.

except For like Brooks Imperial and Selle Anatomica leather saddles,
with a hole punched out of the leather.
