Coming back from Long Beach for the LA River Ride there was an accident ahead of us. Woman lost control and crashed into rocks under the 91 bridge to the left of path. Hoping someone might have some information on her condition? She was given first aid by people she was riding with and a LACBC route marshell. Stuck around to lend a hand until paramedics arrived. She was bleeding from the head but conscious. Best wishes to her.

!Yikes! I wasnt around for that one. But there was another around the 405 as I was going heading back north. All I heard was !baBOOM! and a south bound rider went down and stayed down for about a minute. Thankfully he was OK.

Wow, I missed that one. But it started getting hairy during the last few miles as you got back to Griffith... Lots of kids not really looking where they're riding. But it was a great ride and a great group in the morning.

I had a close call on the San Gabriel path. I took a corner faster than I should into a narrow underpass, and crossed over into the oncoming lane and barely missed an oncoming roadie. Fortunately all that occurred was a twisted back from me kicking myself in the arse. Now I base my speed partly on visibility.

The LA River ride was IMO a "fun" ride and it really was a good time. However, a few weekend "get outta my way!" warriors, inexperienced cyclists, with kids mixed in and the occasional pedestrian and/or cyclist who did not know what was going on, made the route a little sketchy. There are plenty of blind downhill turns on the LA path, so there were riders drifting into oncoming traffic going the opposite way, especially the area between the 105 & PCH. Overall though, it was fun. I liked the band at Griffith park!
