Found this old Kuwahara Parkway bike in sad shape at a garage sale ... ended up paying $10...
It's a decent old frame (4130 butted cromoly) though scratched and ugly, and it only had early 90's Shimano 200GS components on it... I can live with the derailleurs, but the huge resin brakes and nasty shift levers had to go...
So I stripped the old bar, 200gs shifters, painted the stem silver, added a new cruiser bar, new tektro levers and brakes (linear pull lever, so linear pull brakes) and a Shimano M310 3x7 speed rapidfire shift set... and then slid on some SWEET grips...
Don't those grips make the 7-year old in you go "OOOOooohhhhhhhh!!!"
Added some big whitewall balloon tires and went for a ride!
One day I think I'll strip it and repaint... but for now it's something enjoyable to ride around town with the wife.
