Saw one on the drive into work this AM. I am really glad i did not have an icepick in the car, or I would have had to shove it into my corneas repeatedly.

$23,500 for a skateboard with an ugly body around it?
no thanks.

I just bought a low miles mint condition 2008 BMW 528i for about $2000 more than Fiat. I actually had a Fiat 500 as a rental a couple months ago on a business trip. Not a terrible car, but it's not worth more than maybe $14K new. Skateboard with an engine...that's about it.

For more than twice that price you can get one that is even uglier but with British badges.

I happen to like the Fiat 500 Abarth. But I'm probably going to get the Dart Rallye instead.

Unimpressive MPG, too.

I rather like Fiat 500s. They're very popular in UK.

That Aston Martin is a Toyota iQ. IDK if that's pronounced ike yoo or just ik. Anyway, you cant buy it. But you can opt for it when you place an order for an Aston Martin. It's a £30,000 option.

The best thing about the Abarth is the rediculously hot Italian girl bending over in the commercial. I could watch that ad over and over and over...drool.

And tons of electrical problems. Negative Earth.

I get to see her every night........while I'm asleep.

I've seen a couple of the standard models around town. They look OK to me, nothing great but not bad looking. Personally I worry about their size and how practical they would be at freeway speeds. OTOH if I was living in NY City I think it would be a great car, that or the Chevy Volt.

They do make her look pretty good, and I've been curious what it is that she is saying, but if you check she isn't even Italian.

I'll stick with my selection of cheap CX bikes, thanks.

Continuing a proud tradition of combining lackluster performance with apallling aesthetics and groundbreaking unreliability. I had a Lancia Beta for a year or so, I don't think I ever made it through an entire tank of gas without something assploding.

Seems fitting to do a Gucci edition for a car the actually sell at the shopping mall, and even better, it's the fashion mall. So go get all of your overpriced throw away accessories in one place.

She fakes the accent well enough for me.

The gas mileage is decent for a car with some kick to it. My parents are thinking about the Abarth to replace my dad's aging 528. A small car would complement their minivan pretty well.

I was thinking about a new car a month or two back and the 500 (basic model) was one of the ones I drove. It was okay. I'm 6'-2" and it was big enough for me. The worst aspects of the car were road noise, a first gear in the AT model that is too high (how can you have a 6 spd AT and NOT have a really low launch gear?), and the short wheelbase felt squirrely on the freeway, a lot of fore and aft pitch. Fit and finish was only meh too. I also drove the Fiesta. It felt a little more cramped around the shoulders than the 500, but other than that was superior in every way. Even so, I might still go for a 500 eventually when I buy a new car; I like the unique look.

Unique look? I think they look similar to a Mini, Smart or Think which are fairly common around here. Only so much you can do with a small car like that.

I disagree; they all look quite a bit different from each other, and they are also quite different from most cars you see in general, but thanks for playing.

If you like the car otherwise, you might try the Abarth, I think it has stiffer springs.

There may be some nice looking ones out there, but they have escaped me so far. The Gucci one still makes me shudder.

The funny thing aboput the 500 Gucci is having JLo in the ads. Like the homegirl is gonna be crusin' the old hood in a Fiat 500...sure!

Wow. For $23,500, you get a $15,500 car with xmas stripes down the side, and a chromed plastic logo attached with double-sided tape to the rear end. Too bad only the first buyer can get the IMATOOL license plate.

Why do you hate Christmas and tools? Did I mention it was a Fiat 500c? So raise the price to $27,500 and move the horrid stripes from the side to right down the middle! How could I have overlooked that?

Unimpressive MPG, too.

That's the funny part, US safety standards. Might as well add a longer hood and a bigger trunk, you could get the same efficiency.

At around twice the weight of the originals, bringing them into the US is a joke.

no motor?

Don't you work by the Galleria? That place has got to make you tremor like you're coming off a 8 day bender if the car makes you shudder.

It appears people in the Commonwealth prefer to lay under a car with a spanner/tool kit rather than drive.

I remember those Triumphs and Fiats sold here in the 70's and they always failed.
