really stupid question. are http://shop.store.yahoo.com/momovelo/tpich.html compatable with a shimano 105 crankset?

it's not that difficult to provide an answer sometimes. really.
the 130bcd TA rings will fit the 105 cranks. get 'em from business cycles. momovelo is poopoo.
the reason i asked is on the site it says "for use with all pista cranks" didn't know if pista cranks were somehow specific. I have never really had to deal with my crankset chainring before.

generally, "pista cranks" refers to 144mm BCD, at least as far as chainrings are concerned.
TA rings come in 130mm (standard on road double cranks) and 144mm (track cranks). They're pretty pricey, though.
