Had a blast. Was my longest ride by far to date. Was a fairly easy one with about 1700 feet of climbing and finished at 15.8 mph average (still can't get over that 16 barrier lol)
But and back hurt much more than my legs

Well, congrats! You'll find that longer rides stress different things.

Was it solo or with a group? If it was solo, all the more power to you. I did 1 so far this year solo, and I know how much of a pain it is.

No groups lol
Had one really cool moment...came to a steep hill, there were five guys walking their bikes up...I rode it...almost died, but did it....was hella fun when I got to the top

Did you say "Walk your dog, not your bike" on your way by them?

Great job on the metric and making the hill without stopping. :thumb: Whats next on the agenda? :D

Congrats! Good time as well. I know how much fun it is even if it it hurts to ride by folks that are walking their bikes; using guts and determination to do so will pay dividends in increased fitness over time. TrojanHorse is funny as long as it is just a thought; to say such a thing IMHO is just flat rude. Perhaps he has been spending too much time reading the 41.

Great job on the metric! As to the butt and back pain, you could try a recumbent! I did 101 miles Saturday on mine, my legs were tired afterwards...

I feel stupid for asking as everybody else clearly knows and I ride a minimum of 5000 kms/year but What is a ''metric'' and what is a ''century''? what distance is it?
Sorry.

century here refers to rides of 100 miles
Metric century is 100K or 63.5 miles (I think)
