It took 4500km and a whole lot of determination, but me and my bike did it. :) I'm officially the exact weight I want to be at. I lost 6-7 inches at the waist and can now ride 60km at 35km/h spend 2 hours assalting a single track, and ride 60km back at the same pace. My legs are killing me, but a few more weeks and that too will become easy. :) I also upped my cadence quite a lot today thanks to a worn gear. It actually got me to where I wanted to be faster, though it will take a little getting used to.

You should ride miles - they're a lot further. :D
Congratulations! You've been riding your ass off! (literally in this case)
I'm still working on getting to my final weight. Apparently it gets harder as you get closer. :notamused:

Your body doesn't want to let go of its stored energy. It took about 2 months for the first 15, and another 2 months for the last five. 400km a week is about the limit my family will tolerate. I sold my motorcycle and improved my bikes and now I ride everywhere. My bikes are now my car. I should have done this YEARS ago. Much better way to get around.
Grats mate, is good to hear people accepting and embracing a change to their life. :thumb:
:) ignore Trojan he is just jealous his country has not changed to Kms yet :p

60km at 35kph is pretty impressive. Hitting a target weight is also impressive... I'm still about 20-30 over where I want to be, and once I hit that weight I'll take stock and decide whether I want to drop another 20.

The cadence to keep the pace up was killing me. I usually ride 44-12 but my 12t gear was stripped and I had to drop to 44-14. It actually seemed to take less effort to go faster and my cardio seemed up to the task, but my muscles aren't trained for that pace and started to cramp an hour or so in. I don't want to lose anymore weight. I look like a walking skeleton with loose skin and ridiculously large muscles on my legs and back as it is.
I'm trying to get to a point where I can maintain 40km/h for as long as I feel like riding and I'm almost there but aerodynamics are starting to kick in. On a mtb anything over 35km/h and you start to get wind resistance. I'm not really into road bikes so I suspect I'm hitting the limit I can easily sustain with a hybrid/mtb. I know fully aero tucked into the bars I can almost hit 60km/h but then the gearing starts to show. I really need a higher gear at that speed to put anymore power into the system.
