I did my first century yesterday. I ate well and a lot afterwards (traditional speghetti) with yogurt & pineapple for dessert - yum. At 4am I was awoken by intense stomach and gut pain. Not sharp cramping but soreness from the bottom of my chest down to my intestines. I felt weak and nausious, couldn't sleep. Peppto, peppermint tea hasn't helped. nothing has helped. It;s 1030 am now nad I feel weak and the pain is alittle bit less. Chewing takes way to much energy. Perhaps I wasn't hydrated, ate to much, ate to little, ate the wrong foods. But wouldn't I have had sign of trouble before 4am??

Abdominal pain is apparently linked to dehydration in runners.

However, you need to see a physician as soon as you can. They need to rule out serious conditions such as appendicitis, etc..

Doesn't sound normal. I would see a doc if it lasts or gets worse.

I had the same thing going on and, in my case, it turned out to be a Ventral Hernia. Get yourself checked. Better safe than sorry.
