I was given a copilot seat that comes with a blackburn ex-1 rack. It looks like this rack os going to scratch up my rear mounts if I put this on my new Coda, is this the case? Are there any tricks to putting one of these on and not damaging a bike?

Hmm.. not sure what you mean. You'll have to spread the rack stays slightly to install it on the bike dropouts, but that shouldn't damage the frame at all. Maybe paint rub is what you're talking about? I have some small, thin plastic washers I place between the dropout and the rack stays, keeps the paint in excellent shape. I also use them between my bottle cages and the frame when I mount the cages. I bought a box at an auto parts store, have been using them for years.

Sorry I was not clear. That's exactly what I mean, paint rub. Plastic washers are a awesome idea! Thanks!

You could cut up a piece of old tube and use that instead of plastic washers.
