Hello all,

If this is in the wrong section of this site, I sincerely apologize. If you send me to the right department, that would be most appreciated.

OK my question is this; what front Dura Ace 7400 hub matched up with a 32 hole 7400 Dura Ace rear hub? Did they go to 28 hole hubs or was it a 32 hole hub?

Thank you for your time and any and all responses is much appreciated.

This might be better answered on the Classic & Vintage forum, but I'm pretty sure both 32f/32r and 28f/32r sets were available. It's been a while since I worked there (20+ years), but Euro-Asia Imports still lists them:

Well so far no one has given me an answer that I wanted, so I would say this forum knows more ;) All responses have said 32 hole hubs.

Yeah, well... very few people have had the experience of unloading, moving, and organizing high-end bike parts by the truckload. That was part of my job at Euro-Asia. I remember most of the Dura-Ace hubsets coming with identical drilling (28/28, 32/32, 36/36), but a few were split drilling (28/32, 32/36). Also, we sold individual hubs, some of which were special-ordered with 24 spoke holes.

My guess would be pretty much what Jeff already said.

Well this is kinda embarrassing. I'm getting better info here than C&V! Thanks for your help on this guys. I'm gona shot for a 28/32 setup. If that doesn't come around, I'll settle for a 32/32 setup. I don't have the rear wheel yet, but I got it on ebay of all places! Item 320923498170 if you want to take a look.

Wish all the best!
