i have a 2012 giant roam 1. if i wanted to upgrade my drivetrain, what would my choices be?

this is what i currently have according to the giant webpage

I guess if your looking for super performance over the Acera group, anything from Deore on up the Shimano scale for "MTB" derailleurs would be a good choice. I had a SRAM X9 group on a recumbent I use to own and WOW, those shifted like BUTTER. If you want to go more "road" group, you'd have to "lose" the 11/34 cassette and from what I've looked at 28 tooth is the normal MAX cog, except on the 10 speed groups that go up to a 30 tooth. So far I really like my Shimano ACERA group on my Coda Sport, since I'm not into ultra-performance riding, I'll probably not spend the bucks to upgrade, LOL, well at least not till it "wears out",! ;) BTW, I've heard that Avid BB7's are the "cat's meow" of cable disc brake systems, ymmv.
