St. Nick came through with my brakes, and wow they are great! To test them out after the day I spent installing and adjusting them to perfection (more like two hours, but hey), I went down a long, straight downhill section of road with slick tires for max speed. I got to about 40 mph, and let it rip. The brakes are so freakin strong, that they stopped me within 30 feet, and lifting the rear wheel up with me back on the saddle. Super smooth action, pretty levers and brake arms, and two finger levers. They are easy to adjust, and the pads look like they're in for the long haul. The modulation and butter smooth action is a welcome relief to the tired old ProMax turds that I was running. I give them 5 stars.

V-brakes can have that much power? I have Single Digit 3r's and they are decent, but I definintely want to upgrade this year. I guess I'm just spoiled from my Stinky D's 8 inch mags.

From what I'm hearing, they're probably the best rim brakes around... stopping power is almost (but not quite) as good as a decent set of discs in dry weather. I would guess that in really foul weather is where discs really start to shine over the SD7's. But for those of you with no disc brake mounts, I would bet this is as close as you'll get. :)

SD7 = Single Digit 7 V-Brake
SD7 = Speed Dial 7 Levers
why did they do that?!
