i got a free bike today from my college campus that i want to make into something dandy for the little lady
shes not a hardcore skidzz kinda person, more like a leisurely mile around the park and im done type, so this walmart hybrid/whatever bike will be fine
question is: how do i get this nearly solidified grease off everything that is supposed to move? should i douse it with wd-40 and get my scrub on or is there some kinda awesome solvent i could just soak it in that would make life easier?
sub question: aside from fleamarket/garage sales is there a reliable source for walmart quality bike parts, namely 26" front wheels and a seatpost?

Acetone works as a good degreaser. You may know it from common household products such as nail polish remover. Just make sure to regrease everything before reassembly.

PB Blaster > WD40
Co-ops for low-end components + look for free bikes on craigslist and on the street during trash days.

Engine degreaser is $2 at walmart.
Nail polish remover is like $5.
Get the cheaper stuff that will do the job better and not piss of your wife because you used all of her remover.
