Hey all,

I was wondering, are you of you members of the Masonic Lodge here? Myself, I am a MM at Herrin Prairie Lodge #693 in Herrin, Illinois. :) Always looking to connect with brothers on the net!

... should they be telling you if they are? ;)

Also, since everyone knows the Freemasons control society and the stoplights, can you get the light at Weddell and Fair Oaks re-timed for traffic crossing Fair Oaks? It is way too short.

Haha nope... Freemasonry isn't a secret society :p that is why we have decals, rings and even ads in the paper about community dinners and what not. besides with the internet, there is no such thing as privacy anymore

Freemasonry is a society with secrets and its just a symbol of tradition more than anything...

Wanna know our biggest secret???

....

We love to eat together :o there goes my tongue, dang it!!! :p

My grandfather was a Mason and was given this watch for his service as Grand Master (I think that was the title) of his lodge. Our shared name has 12 letters in it and that's what makes the numerals on the watch dial. I'll pass this to my son who also shares the name.

So why do all masonic lodges look like war bunkers? You'd be lucky if you see one with 1 or more very small windows.

I don't know. All I know for sure is S&C was probably the Lodge Brother no one wanted to admit knowing. He used to hand out organ donor cards to nonhelmet wearers at RAGBRAI every year.

Now that I think about it, someone a couple of generations back in my wife's family must have been a Freemason, as we have a Bible in the house that says "with masonic helps" right on the cover.

Brick is often used as it symbolizes stone masonry which was how it was started :) Windows are not common because lodge is like vegas, what happens in lodge, stays in lodge >_<

I saw a great exhibit about masonic stuff at the guggenheim in ny.

It was matthew barney's cremaster cycle. Excellent once-in-a-lifetime look behind the scenes in masonville (is it masonism?).

It kinda does look like fun. I know a couple of masons through work, they seem like otherwise well adjusted people.

I reckon one of their temples would be a really cool place to stage a D&D adventure by candlelight.

I am a Free Mason at the Sunrise Lodge F&AM, Gahanna Ohio.

I am also a member of York Rite, and am a Knight Templar in that organization. I am not really active there, I just pay my dues. Maybe when I retire I'll get active there again.

Also, I am a Noble of the Aladdin Shrine. I am an active member of the Mariners Club there and recently became an apprentice Shriner Clown.

Proud to be so.

During the Great Depression my grand father abandoned his family in East St Louis, Il, had it not been for the generosity and kindness of Masons the family would have not survived. They put my father and his brother in DeMolay and provided them with after school jobs and food assistance. Masons will always hold a special place in my heart.

When I joined the navy in 1974, demolay was listed as one of the organizations you had to swear not to have been a member of. It was listed right along with the communist party and a bunch of other typically anti-US-government organizations.

Based on that, I've always thought of demolay as some kind of subversive organization.

That's weird. DeMolay is sort of a Junior Freemasonry-lite. I was in it. There is nothing more subversive about it than Boy Scouts. I was in that too.

I thought it was weird too, especially since I was invited to join by a kid I didn't know very well when I was in 3rd or 4th grade, IIRC. I figured I had dodged a bullet by not joining.

That is odd. DeMolay sponsored some anti-Masonic organizations in the 60s! The military should of welcomed them in with open arms :-\ Also, if you are a commie, you cannot be a Mason because that would interfere with choosing your own religion and that is a must to be a free man :)

Maybe sponsoring anti-Masonic organizations is what go DeMolay in dutch with the government, specifically, it riled up some of the Illuminati puppetmasters who really run things. ;-)

The Illuminati was been disbanded for quite some time and to be honest, there are more Masons than them :p

The Anti-Masonic Party was getting big at one time. Mostly ran by Catholics but that is also a thing of the past as well.
