The kids wanted to go skating the other day - fine except that I was in new skates and the kids really wanted to skate.
End result - i now have blisters on the insides of both foot arches - OW!
Any thoughts for taking the sting out of those blisters, and 2) any thoughts for breaking them skates in faster??

I wouldn't pop 'em, if that's what you were thinking. Try some homeopathic stuff like arnaflora (sp?)
can't help you with breaking the skates in since I'm only ever on two wheels, however, you can put mole skin onto of the hotspots to prevent more problems.

I know the standard advice is to not pop the blisters, but I always take a sterile needle and relieve the pressure. Don't remove the top of the blister, that top layer of skin is protecting the *very* sensitive lower layer! If you 'deflate' the blister, be sure to apply antibiotic and dressing for a few days.
Sorry, no help with the skates.

Get some blister relief pads, thay are little felt pads with a hole in the center.
And soak your foot in hot water, add nice foot soak stuf to the water(ask your wife or mother or dude at a drug store)

If I saw you in the clinic I would "pop" your blisters. I'd also want to see the shoegear that you're using so that I could tell you what's wrong with the fit and recommend some type of insert that would give you the proper support or offload certain areas. Unless you have fallen arches or there is a problem with your shoegear (aside from infection, trauma, or other cause) you don't normally get blisters in your arch. Of course my assumption at this point is that the blisters came from pressure. They could very well be from one of the forms of athletes foot.
Don't soak your foot after you've popped your blisters unless you want to risk an infection. Triple antibiotic and bandaid until it heals unless it starts to get macerated in which case just a bandaid daily.
