1972 Raleigh that I'm going to build with drop bars and tektro levers to the original Weinmann centerpulls. I'd been wanting a 531 frame and fork and one just showed up through family channels.

Remember, that TA crank uses a non-standard 23.0mm x 1.0mm extractor...
French thread? I won't pull it until it starts making grinding noises.

I know about tipping a Brooks saddle a bit nose up, but seriously, is that comfy?

FWIW - a B17 needs to be tipped up a little more than other models. That would be a little excessive for me but different ifs for different butts.
It found its own level - that's my nephew's tip but it's OK.

Classic bars would look better IMO especially with the original brake, but if it gets ridden then its worth it. Nice lugs
I have some cloth bar tape coming and may switch to drop bars. The saddle is a Team Professional

Definitely a lot of tilt for a Pro. I imagine it'll come back down when you switch to drops.
I put the drops on today - much better look. With the Texas wind I ride in the drops some.
Here's the bike with drop bars -

+1. FGs with lugged black frames look really classy and old-school.

Heres my conversion. 83 Raleigh Comp G.S. I also love the 531 frames.

Very nice. The color scheme is fine
Took the Raleigh out for a ride to the YMCA swimming pool. The frame is longer than my other fixed gear bike. It rides like a cadillac. really nice.
Here it is with the track grips and cotton bar tape--

So much better.
Bump --- I turned it into a single speed. I had a 16t White Industries freewheel that I could use - 42x16 = 69 gear inches. I like about a 65, but I can just strain. Made a drop bolt out of two cheap corner braces from Home Depot (took about 1/2 a day to figure it out) and added the rear Weinmann brake and added the right hand tektro lever.
