It's been a long time since I've posted on here, but this has been kind of a milestone month for me so I thought I'd share my progress. When I bought my bike last year (Trek 7300) I was down to 330 pounds. Even though I was riding I still managed to put on another 17 pounds. Last August I decided to get serious about my diet again and slowly but surely I started losing again. Just a couple of weeks ago I finally got below 300 pounds and today I am 295! I haven't been below 300 pounds since college (18 years ago) so it feels really good.

Also, I've been able to substantially increase my mileage this month. Since I started tracking my miles, I've done 141 miles in April and 155 miles in May. My goal for June was 200 miles and I crushed it! As of this morning, my total for the month is 318 miles. I rode 18 out of 30 days which is also an all time high. I enjoyed riding when I started last year, but I absolutely love it now. I'm even thinking about getting a road bike so I can go further and faster.

Even though I haven't posted in a long time, I'm on here all the time reading threads and getting lots of great info and inspiration. I want to thank all of you for that.

Mike

great job Mike!

When I was reading the title for the thread, made me laugh since I have kidney STONES and agreed.... it is a month with many stones! :)

Excellent work Mike! I saw Apex, NC as your location. I'm working in Cary until July 2013 and spent last weekend there rather than fly home...one less plane ride suite me fine! Anyway, I took a Saturday drive and ended up in your fair city. Nice area. I've also noticed many bike paths so I'm bringing a bike when I return. If you could arrange for the humidity to go away, that'd be great!

Haha. Wish I could help you out with the humidity. It definitely sucks in the summertime. If you're looking for a nice long MUP to ride on, the American Tobacco Trail is pretty nice. It goes from Apex to Durham.

Congrats on the milestone Mike! A road bike may become the black hole of miles..... farther and faster only begs for even farther and faster yet. Where does it end, I do not know but I'm still chasing that dream of even farther and faster. Enjoy every mile.

Mike, that's great. At the rate I'm going I think I'll be below 300 in the next three weeks. I can relate. That's awesome.
