Mountain Biking - Kona Vs. Specialized Vs. Trek...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi all.
Greetings from rainy UK... I'm new to the forum, and would need some wise advice...
Just a question...
I'm looking for a XC hardtail bike ($750-$950), fun and fast if possible...
Which do you think is the best between:
- Kona Cinder Cone
- Specialized rockhopper A1 pro FS
- Trek 6700
The specs all seem to be pretty much the same, but I don't really know much about the rides. If anybody can give a hand with this, I promise to be eternally gratefull :p

Hi Julo, and welcome to the forums :D
It'd be a chuck up between the Kona and the Speccy. Both bikes have a long history, and would be good for any application you might have in mind.
I'm currently riding a Kona, and love the long stretched out approach...excels in technical situations, and is a billy goat up the climbs.
As with everything, try out all three bikes and see which suits you...
Let us know how you get on
Rich
Thank you mate :D
Seems like this forum is a mine of cool infos...
Sun seems to be back in Wales, so I'm off for some test ride now...

I'm a big fan of Specialized bikes, so my vote's on that one!

I with a2psyklnut on this one. i really like most of the specialized bikes. But over all try them all out and see what one works best for your body type and all that. they are all nice bikes!

For a great product and even better support, get a specialized from your lbs.

i've got a specialized stumpjumper fsrxc pro, and i feel i haven't chosen wrong. A year ago I had a rockhopper A1, which was also a sweet ride with good specs. You can't go wrong with specialized bikes!
i have the cinder cone and i love it. i actually did test ride the specialized, but felt the fork on the kona was MUCH MUCH better. i have put my bike to the test, and it has yet to fail me. boy i love this sport.
