So I'm going to apologize up front for not having pictures. Local guy, and he seemed leery of me taking pictures prior to an actual sale.
Best I can tell, it's a 76 Fuji The Newest, in pretty good condition. Serial number started with 76A9, so should have been a Jan 1976 frame.
The paint job is good- after looking at some others, I'm not sure if it's completely original or has been retouched, but if retouched they were very true to the original paint job- lug tracings, lettering color, etc.
The components all seemed in good shape- definitely not Tubular tires, however, and I couldn't get a make on the rims other than that they're an alloy (worn off). Cranks/Chainrings seemed in great shape, new bar tape, near-perfect hoods, etc. Not positive they're all stock, since I'm comparing from memory, but most of the parts seem to fit with what the catalog has on the bike as stock.
From a preliminary ride, it seemed to fit- the tires were very low and he didn't have a pump, however, which limited the testing significantly. It's a very aggressive racing geometry when I tend to prefer more touring-type frames, but I figure it's worth having a nice light agressive bike in the stable.
We're negotiating somewhere around $200 for it now- I offered $175, he said he was looking for more but might consider $200.
So what do you C&Vers think? Worth the price? Not really worrying about flipping it for a profit, but I don't want to take a bath on it if I decide not to keep it either.
