I have now concluded my mom is a pathological liar and someone who always has to create problems for no reason. I am no shrink, but she is crazy.

Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close knit family - in another city. George Burns
I like his perspective. In the whole extended family, it goes from one extreme to the other. I left home as quick as I could, at 17, and that still seems like it was one of my better moves.

It took me a while to realize 'mother nature' is always used describing an event of cataclysmic destruction.
otherwise . . ."friends are God's way of apologizing for your family".

half of them believe the events of the bible as literal fact, so, yeah, f'in' bat ***** crazy.
I have now concluded my mom is a pathological liar and someone who always has to create problems for no reason. I am no shrink, but she is crazy.I have a soon-to-be ex sister in law like that. Abusive, very fluid concept of what "truth" is, and generally bat-crap insane.
The rest of us are "relatively" normal.

Excellent.
do you have a family that is crazy?
Who doesn't?
Looking at my family, I am fairly sure I'm adopted because I'm the only normal one. They put the fun is dysfunctional.

I'm probably the weird one, but in a fairly normal way: I detest a lie and if I sniff one I am on it like a terrier after a rat until I have obtained contrition or hatred. So far it's about 387547474939:1; people seem to have a hard time admitting they've been lying to themselves.
I attribute this to my maternal grandmother's side of the family, and her uncle Dynamite Ollie who was too fond of large noises. I also am irredeemably in love with a woman who is mentally ill, with Bipolar II Syndrome. She gets me, so what am I gonna do? Quit because it's hard? That doesn't say much about me, does it?

Because this is Foo.
This is the place to vent your frustrations about relatives, friends, enemies, in-laws, landlords, co-workers, bosses, the boss's sister, Windows software, car transmissions, and shoddy 220V wiring installed in your living room.

I was a psychology major in college. I wrote a term paper about my mother, who suffers from OCPD with a sub-type of hoarding, and refuses all attempts at treatment. My professor thought I should have the paper published as a case study.

Not only is my mom crazy, she is/was a psych nurse for 35 years. WOW, do us 3 boys have some stories.
We later realized that crazy crisis is a way of rallying the kids around mom. Even if there is no need for a crisis.
I am the crazy one. We are all screwed up in one way or another, some just more than others.

I'll be 50 next month and I'm still holding out for the day when they sit me down and break that news to me. It's the only explanation that makes sense.
because I'm the only normal one.
Mmmm OK, that's not the case with me.

So Foo is 3/4 of a Fool? The days of the anonymous internet are over. They not only know you are a dog, but they know what breed, who your litter mates were and whether you've been spayed or neutered.
