Just thought it was funny. Maybe it didn't deserve it's own thread.

I think that any bike with a bike mounted flask and cage deserves its own thread.

I second that. Well done Yuppie!

I am still looking for a strap that I can wear 'bandolero style' that holds twelve beer cans with velcro fasteners.

Make yer own! (if your serious). Get some 2" webbing from a camping/outdoor store, buy some velcro strips while your at it, and sew these strips onto the webbing, and presto! an instant badass beer can bandalero (sp?). You can even get a fancy and sew a release buckle to the strap t oremove the strap quickly.
Is will probably cost you under $10, beer not included.

You're gonna need something on the bottom, to keep the beer cans from slipping out. Get some of those cup holders that are supposed to hang from your window that they sell at truck stops, that ought to do the trick. Or make some kindof plastic L bracket. I think i might try this as well.

yeah - my flask fits nicely in my back pocket. And back pockets are free on most shorts/dickies/jeans...
$30, hell - I'll tape your flask to your bike for free and let you keep the $30. Oh, don't forget the free face-punch. You've all earned it!

yeah that seems a tad high to me.

i think i am gonna just leave mine in my back pocket too, thank you very much!

Fugazi Dave

Heh...only now do I notice the price. I think I'll take out some 100mph tape, some lineman's pliers, and see if I can't bend a $2 cage into service. Pity...sweet idea.

Mine's in my stash pocket right now. Perhaps I should break it out to console myself that I'm stuck at work until midnight at least?

You put in your back pocket what you like... I figure you need a little ass padding anyway.

I like the idea and I'd get one now.

If they weren't 30 dollars, and if I didn't lack a flask.

Maybe I could just duct tape those to the bars. Six forward and six back.

But it was the best soccer game ever. Do that on a ride and I believe you would die. Do it while spectating and the world is a wonderful place.

Fugazi Dave, are you an electrician? 100mph tape and the "every tool is a hammer," errr, I mean linesmens, are giving me that impression... IBEW by chance?

Not quite. One of my grandfathers was an electrician, and the other was an engineer, so I sort of grew up working that way. On top of that both of them and my father were in the military, so I've spent most of my life learning how to put things together. At this point I can fix/rig just about anything, but by trade I am still a photographer. Go figure.

dustinlikewhat
01-11-05, 11:03 PM
rock on, you should rig a camera to a bike and have a button on your bars that would make the camera take a picture (my technical, or well even basic knowledge of camera terms is very limited...)

Fugazi Dave
01-11-05, 11:05 PM
Heh...you should see what I put in my sketchbook last night. I've already got notes together on building a camera mount to go on my top tube for a time-lapse riding sequence.

I always thought the idea was portability...

I mounted a cheap clip-on plastic waterbottle cage on my bike.
I just squeeze the sides and slip the flask in.
works great and I spent the $30 on a bottle of crown.

I'm working on a design for something like this. If I can manage to finish it (and then find a digital camera to take a picture with) I'll post it for sure. Should be more comfortable and less bulky than trying to carry the box.

Look into Paintball harnesses. Paintball PODS are the same size as tall beercans. If you get a 4pak harness, you can probably fit 8 beers in it.

That's a good idea. If you had a Surly tug with the bottle opener, you could pack 4 22oz bottles, too.

Someone else has the exact same flask cage. Even has a suicide girls sticker on the flask.
