im in the market for my first geared cross bike- i spent all of last year doing ss on my nature boy. The all city is an awesome bike but a bit heavy. Also, Ive got a campy record 10 speed groupset just lying around so I need a new bike to put it on. I can get an amazing deal on a caadx with tiagra 10 and sell all of the parts to make way for my campy. I can also get a macho man but I fear its heavy like my nature boy.

Are caadx's a decent racing cross bike? I know they have rack mounts and slightly more relaxed geometry than some other frames, but are they race worthy? I have not seen (m)any at local races but perhaps thats because everyone rides silly carbon bikes.

Is the Macho Man worth a weight penalty for its durability and nice ride?

Lastly, are there any other cheap cross frames out there (even online) which are race worthy?

Im leaning towards the caadx but thanks for the recommendations.

QBP is distributing Ridley frames and forks . a choice of Pro Crossers.

lower tier is an alloy frame.. Belgian Design.

Felt and RedLine another brand, well received ..

i can get qbp stuff (because i work in a shop) but i think ridley is pricey. The salsa is less AND for about 100 less than the ridley i can get a crux frameset.

Are caadx's a decently respectable on the race courses? I know the 2013 one will be racier (like a caad10) but will the 2012 race well?

finishing near the front gets you respect.. IDK if a brand of bike 1 vs another, matters ..

saw a video of a rider dismounting . jumping the barriers and remounting, without
slowing from a running pace,
That will get you respect.. technique..
