Need help and frame builders seem to be the right place to start. I'm 260lbs guy and I would like to upgrade from my Cervelo S1 to a carbon bike. Are good carbon frames okay for a skinny fat guy such as myself? I would like to know the truth more than opinion but I also need opinions too. I get different info from bike shops and the internet & not sure what to believe. Please help!

Thanks, Dave

I would ask Cervelo. The rest of us can only offer uninformed opinion

The beauty of a layered material like carbon is that you could make what ever frame/ride quality you wanted. But the big companies don't. They make stuff for the wannabe club racer middle of the fit/weight bell curve. To do anything else would result in a bad rep from the magizines.

Now the custom builders (of carbon, and need I say metal too) will choose frame components with the needed stiffness/strength as well as the geometry that a person who is at the edges of the bell curve will be appreciated. Andy.
