This morning I took my kid to the doctor to deal with a cold. That in itself was no big thing. However, when I sat down at the blood pressure machine out of curiousity I did get a surpise. My Blood pressure said 90/61 and my heart rate (resting) was 57. This was AFTER taking Christine to the doctor on the back of the bike - a short journey but never the less I would have expected to have a slightly elevated heart rate if anything.
Checking the webs mine field of "information" the general concensus seems to be that while numbers like that are low, they can in fact be normal for people who exercise a lot. I generally ride every day for up to 3 hours, and 7 hours in the weekend. Total of about 1200-1600km a month or 15-16 hours a week. I like to ride hard enough that my muscles and body start to complain.
Anyone else notice this effect? If its normal I like it...
